The emergence of generative artificial intelligence (AI) presents a major opportunity for the European Union to regain its competitive edge and shape the future of technology – building on Europe’s wealth of talent, top-tier educational and research institutions, and access to computing power.
The European Commission’s recent white paper on network infrastructure makes several references to what it describes as “private networks”, with an indication that the Commission wants to apply greater regulatory controls to these networks.
Two years have passed since the European Commission published its initial proposal to prevent and combat child sexual abuse (CSA). Nevertheless, negotiations on Europe’s long-term regulatory framework to fight CSA still struggle to make progress.
The EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) only started to fully apply in March, meaning that companies designated as so-called ‘gatekeepers’ had to roll out all kinds of changes to their services and products in order to comply with what is prescribed by the DMA.
