ICYMI: Meeker’s Internet Trends 2019

Every year, venture capitalist Mary Meeker releases a highly regarded report on the most important trends on the Internet. DisCo has covered previous versions of the report and highlighted specific aspects. This post kicks off a short series on Internet Trends 2019, each post focusing on a different trend addressed in the recently-released report.

Three initial salient trends of 2019 are displayed below:

First, many global Internet market capitalization leaders are companies from the United States, with China in second. Comparing these statistics to those in last year’s report, more companies from different regions are now global leaders.

Second, the freemium business model is growing in gaming, enterprise, and consumer industries.

And third, digital media usage is rising in mobile devices and accelerating overall.
